World Tourism Day is celebrated around the world on 27 September and this year its theme is “Accessible Tourism – Tourism for All”.
The theme of this year’s World Tourism Day is dedicated to accessibility in tourism for all, so that tourist facilities and products get more oriented to the development of social tourism.
It is important to raise awareness on the rights of disadvantaged groups, facilitate their integration into society and develop socially responsible tourism.
To point out this important day, its topic and the importance of tourism for economy, World Tourism Day is celebrated in different ways around the world as well as in different parts of Croatia.
The most important tourism region in the country, Istria, marked this day with the occasional lecture “Modern trends – tourism available to everyone” at the Faculty of Economics and Tourism “Dr. Mijo Mirkovic “, while on Saturday, October 1, there will be held events throughout Istria where the tourist offer of Istria will be more accessible to its citizens and visitors.
