Juraj Dobrila University organizes seminars to encourage cooperation between the academic community and the IT industry.

Research Seminar in Computer Science, Informatics and Mathematics

The Research Seminar in Computer Science, Informatics, and Mathematics serves as a platform for connecting scientists, industry experts, local researchers, and students. The aim of the seminar is the exchange of knowledge and ideas between he academic community and the IT industry.
The purpose is to encourage research groups at Juraj Dobrila University in computer science, informatics, mathematics, and STEAM disciplines.

The upcoming seminar includes a lecture by Zlatko Sirotić from ISTRA TECH entitled “Comparison of two features in seven OOP languages”.
OOP languages ​​will be analyzed: C++, Eiffel, Java, C#, Scala, Kotlin and Swift. The origin of the mentioned languages, the possibility (or impossibility) of multiple inheritance and the (impossibility) of covariance without the use of generic classes will be discussed. More details about the event, as well as about previously held seminars, can be found below.
The paper on covariance in OOP languages was previously presented at MIPRO 2024, held in Opatija.
