The PL \/ SQL programming language (but also SQL) has been supplemented accordingly. This version of the database, as well as the next version 8i (with Java within the database), did not have some important object capabilities such as inheritance, method override, polymorphism. These capabilities were introduced by Oracle in 2001 in database 9i.
